The SDBIC offers a variety of resources and programs to educators.  In this section, you will find reproducible materials, links to helpful websites and available programs through the South Dakota Beef Industry Council.

Teach Free provides preschool through 12th grade educators with high-quality educational materials that supplement the curriculum. Resources can also be downloaded for use in the classroom.

SD Ag in the Classroom is a teacher and kid friendly website that provides educators and students with information, lesson plans, and activities to increase agricultural literacy.

Health Edventure is an entire curriculum website intended to provide access to health education in rural areas where school nurses are not available and guidance counselors do not have the time or resources to teach such content. It is a “one-stop” wellness website focusing on disease prevention, disease information and healthy lifestyles. The website includes material for K-12.

Healthy School Nutrition – Find nutrition resources and tools to improve nutrition and physical activity in the schools.  For the latest on nutrition and physical activity in schools, check out www.school-wellness.org.

A growing body of research shows that regular family mealtimes have a positive impact on all aspects of a child’s development – physical, mental, behavioral, social, and educational. Family Mealtime provides tools that help busy families enjoy more mealtimes together – “how-to” tips, advice, tasty recipes, shopping lists, conversation starters plus many other resources.

The Human Nutrition Research program studies how beef fits in a healthful diet through investigating its role in weight management, optimal body composition and metabolism; the natural nutrients and lipids found in beef; and beef’s positive contribution to diets is consistent with the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
