The South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador program assists with various SDBIC promotion events and share materials highlighting what they do as South Dakota beef farmers and ranchers on social media.
The South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador program is in its sixth year at the South Dakota Beef Industry Council. The 2025/2026 class has 49 Junior Beef Ambassadors from across South Dakota. The ambassadors assist with various SDBIC promotion events and share materials highlighting what they do as South Dakota beef farmers and ranchers on social media. The program is a great opportunity for our future beef industry leaders to build confidence in sharing the benefits of beef in your diet, as well as preparing them to answer questions about beef farming and ranching.
The SDBIC will provide Jr Beef Ambassador the resources to go out within their local communities and promote beef to consumers.
The South Dakota Jr Beef Ambassador program was an iconic program carried out by the SD Cattlewomen that provided an opportunity for young beef leaders to engage and promote our product. The program sunsetted at both the national and state level several years ago but the impact of the program continues yet today with some of our current beef leaders having been raised as part of the program. The South Dakota Jr Beef Ambassador Program Coordinator, Amanda Kammerer, sees the program as a great opportunity for youth to get involved. The South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador program is open to any youth ages 5 to 18. This is a fantastic and fun opportunity to advocate for the beef industry and share your passion within your local community and throughout the state of South Dakota.
South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassadors assist with various SDBIC promotion events such as the Black Hills Stock Show, Dakota Fest, Sanford International PGA Tour Champions and the South Dakota State Fair. They also shared photos and videos on the SDBIC social media highlighting their ranch and what they do as South Dakota beef farmers and ranchers. Throughout the year, they also shared delicious beef recipes for everyone to try!
The SDBIC will give Jr Beef Ambassador the resources to go out within their local communities and promote beef to consumers.
