PIERRE, SD – The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) is pleased to announce Amanda Bacon as the new director of communications.
Bacon most recently served several years in corporate communications, public relations and marketing for Avera Health and Avera St. Mary’s Hospital. Prior to that, Bacon had a long career as a television news reporter, producer and anchor at KOTA-TV in Rapid City, SD.
In her new role, Bacon will manage all internal and external communications and act as Public Information Officer.
“We’re thrilled to have Amanda here as part of our team,” said Suzy Geppert, executive director, SDBIC. “She brings a wealth of knowledge in communications and media to our office.” A graduate of South Dakota State University in broadcast journalism and a life-long South Dakota resident with ties to agriculture, Geppert says Bacon understands the challenges producers face, and how to communicate with a new generation of both producers and consumers."
Please direct all future SDBIC media requests to Amanda Bacon at [email protected] or by calling 605-224-4722.
