PIERRE, SD - The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) is seeking nominations for the 2016 Prime Promoter awards. Each year, the SDBIC recognizes the outstanding businesses, individuals and organizations that go above and beyond promoting beef and the state's beef cattle producers.
“The beef industry is a crucial part of South Dakota’s economy,” said Suzy Geppert, Executive Director, SDBIC. “The Prime Promoter awards are a way to recognize those individuals, businesses and organizations that stand out in promoting beef or providing special services to the industry.”
"South Dakota cattle producers raise exceptional beef,” said Tracey Walsh, Director of Industry Relations, SDBIC. “The Prime Promoter awards recognize those producers, as well as others, such as restaurants which predominantly feature beef, or grocery stores which merchandise a lot of our product. The awards recognize there are many different roles in continuing to ensure beef is what’s for dinner.”
The deadline to submit nominations for the 2016 Prime Promoter awards is Wed., May 25. Nominations can be submitted online. Winners will be announced at the SDBIC annual meeting Sept. 17, 2016 held at South Dakota State University (SDSU) in conjunction with SDSU's Beef Bowl.
